Forsters leads on £200 million financing deal for the new Mandarin hotel and 80 luxury flats

Forsters’ Banking and Finance Team have led on a significant development financing loan from two funders for the development of an exciting new luxury boutique hotel and 80 apartments in Mayfair. 

The Clivedale London development, located on Hanover Square will deliver a new Mandarin Oriental Hotel and 80 Mandarin Oriental Residences and, is due to complete in 2021.  The hotel and apartments will be developed and marketed by Clivedale London, an independent Mayfair based developer known for creating properties that set new benchmarks in design, craftsmanship, service and elegance.  The boutique hotel will feature 50 guest rooms and suites, along with the 80 private residential flats, designed by architects, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.

Forsters (one of the London's leading and largest legal real estate practices) Head of Banking and Finance, Victoria Edwards, led on the financing deal, assisted by Rowena Marshall, with Head of Commercial Real Estate, Matthew Swainston, leading on property matters, assisted by Denize Akbulut.

A cross-office, multi-disciplinary team from UK law firm TLT led by partner Paul Crighton and associate Paul Brock advised the funders.
