Looking for something a little different?

As the Rugby World Cup ends, our 2015/16 graduate recruitment campaign begins! It kicks off this month with applications opening for the 2016 summer vacation scheme and our training contracts commencing in September 2018.

Applications should be made online, where full details can be found on both vacancies (you can find all the information here). The 2016 summer vacation scheme deadline is 31 January 2016 and the 2018 training contract deadline is 31 July 2016.

Who should apply?

We recruit graduates from a broad range of backgrounds and welcome both graduate and undergraduate applicants as well as degrees in any discipline. Applicants should have a minimum of 320 UCAS points from a maximum of three full A Levels (excluding General Studies) and have gained or expect to gain a 2:1 or higher degree classification. Beyond this, we are looking for ambitious, personable and motivated candidates who thrive on responsibility within a team environment.

Training at Forsters

Our Lex 100 award-winning training contract is divided into six four-month seats, not the traditional four. The aim of the six-seat system is to allow our trainees to sample more of the firm's practice areas before deciding on the area they want to qualify into and to broaden their knowledge of the firm and its practice areas.

We want our trainees to feel part of the team from day one and to become a valuable member of every department they do a seat in. The training is very 'hands-on' and we aim to give trainees increasing responsibility as each seat progresses. Typical trainee duties include drafting documents, doing research and attending client meetings.

In addition to 'on-the-job training', there are regular in-house seminars on legal and commercial topics as well as comprehensive training on our IT and in-house systems. Our trainees also attend a bespoke Professional Skills Course, provided by a leading training supplier and designed for Forsters.

To see profiles of some of past, present and future trainees, please see our graduate recruitment website (http://graduates.forsters.co.uk/meetus.aspx).

Sponsorship

We have an exclusive arrangement with the University of Law for the provision of GDL and LPC courses to our future trainees, but we do not mind if you have already completed either course elsewhere. Payment of course fees, plus a maintenance grant of £5,000 per year of study, is offered

to future trainees who have yet to complete these courses.

The summer vacation scheme

This forms part of our graduate recruitment process and we will be recruiting up to 14 candidates for the 2016 scheme, which will take place next July. For more details, please see our graduate recruitment website (http://graduates.forsters.co.uk/vacationscheme.aspx).

Open days

We hold a number of open days throughout the year, where students are invited to visit our office to discover more about us. Our next open day will be taking place on Wednesday 16 December 2015. To find out more and to apply for a place on it, please see our graduate recruitment website (http://graduates.forsters.co.uk/opendays.aspx).
