Squatters rights: a chance to have your say

The government has recently launched a consultation seeking views on the effectiveness of the current powers which are available to local authorities, the police and landowners when dealing with unauthorised development and encampments.

Forsters are in the process of collating a response to the consultation paper which will be based on our extensive experience of dealing with the eviction of squatters on behalf of landowner clients.

If you would like to get in touch and share your own experiences so that we can feed them in to our consultation response, we would be very happy to hear from you. Property Litigation partner, Ben Barrison, will be leading the team collating our response.

Ben said: "Dealing with unauthorised occupation of land and its consequences can be a time consuming and expensive process for all concerned. Hopefully this an opportunity for those affected by these issues to have their voices heard and for meaningful legislative reform to follow."
