Naomi Rasooly

Associate, Dispute Resolution

Naomi is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team.

Her experience in commercial litigation includes advising on complex, high value financial services disputes, civil fraud claims, mass competition claims and employment claims relating to alleged victimisation and discrimination. She has also advised in connection to a market study conducted by the Competition and Markets Authority and an investigation conducted by the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Previously, Naomi has advised global media organisations on pre-publication legal issues, including the risks of defamation and breach of privacy, copyright and data subject rights respectively. She has also advised in connection to complaints and threatened and issued claims which arose in response to published content. In the political sphere, Naomi has advised in relation to an inquiry conducted by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.

Notably, Naomi has advised:

  • Warner Music Group in relation to the music and streaming market study conducted by the Competition and Markets Authority;
  • Volkswagen AG in a claim it has brought to recover damages arising from the Roll-on/Roll-off shipping cartel;
  • Barclays Bank UK plc on a civil fraud claim brought against it by Citco Bank and Trust Co Ltd;
  • a major lender on the Financial Ombudsman Service’s investigation of various complaints brought against it.

Naomi is an ADR-ODR International Civil-Commercial Accredited mediator. She has previously practised law in the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

Before joining Forsters LLP, Naomi was an Associate in the Disputes and Investigations department at Slaughter and May and a Trainee Solicitor at Simmons & Simmons. She has also worked in-house as a Group Legal Advisor at Associated Newspapers Limited.
